Focus on detail

Located within a post-war residential building on Knokke’s seafront, the existing apartments’ function was prioritized over their shape and design.

Challenged by the original structure, we decided to embrace it and make it the motif of the space. Carefully, detailling and curved elements have been added to soften its rigidity and synchronize with the ocean context.

A network of storage, installations and smart technologies are concealed behind the neutral surfaces of the apartment.

The interior elements also strengthen this connection with the context. The fluid edges and reflections guide the viewer’s eye around the space and toward the horizon.
